Metroid Prime comprehensive playthrough part 4

Tallon Overworld South

Now heading into the crashed Frigate... immediately you can tell what this place is because it looks similar to the ventilation shaft on the other Frigate that you escaped from at the beginning.

Reactor Core... a huge room with platforms that looks like it'd be a huge pain to get back out of if you came here before getting the gravity suit. And the Aqua Pirates here will pretty much guarantee you fall to the bottom while fighting them.

There's a bunch of machinery down here that looks scannable, but of course being underwater it's all unusable. Although the power conduits to open the door are still usable. This door is on a ledge that I think is unreachable without the gravity suit.

In the next room, which has a door to a save room and another power conduit door, you can see glowy radioactive stuff underneath the crumbled floor. I dunno what the pirates would be doing in this crashed frigate... maybe trying to salvage materials or something?

Got my 9th energy tank for free, just basically lying in plain sight on the linear path through the Frigate.

Another conduit door, just up out of the water... damn should have saw that coming.

Metroid Prime comprehensive playthrough part 3

Phendrana Drifts - After Research Lab escape

The closest place to use my super missiles is that east door in Ruined Courtyard.

This leads through a short Quarantine Cave.

The Phazon radiation given off by Thardus negates auto-targeting systems, preventing lock-on. It may be possible to acquire alternate targets with a different Visor. The chaotic nature of Phazon irradiation leads to instability in its structural integrity. Thardus can encase targets in ice, and its colossal size and strength make it a formidable opponent.
This boss battle against the phazon rock galem Thardus is easy but very long... Actually the only reason it's easy is because of the very low damage all his attacks do to you, even on Veteran mode... It actually gets kinda hard to track him down later on when his power is causing a huge snowstorm and its too bright to use your thermal visor... and the more pieces of him you destroy, the smaller sized ball he becomes, and it makes it harder for you to hide behind the outer wall croppings...

Got the Spider Ball.

And I see there's another way I can get to now with the spider ball, that's not on the map... and a ledge I can get to later with the Grapple Beam. The path after that boss leads to the South Magmoor Caverns elevator... the top structure here is in runs and there's another spiderball path behind it leading to a white door.

Metroid Prime comprehensive playthrough part 2.5

Phendrana Drifts - After Space Jump

A red scan item, a Cordite Statue, that apparently has some sort of power switch behind it. Can't seem to access it right now. But can now access the upper west path.

More bombu enemies... that means I'm getting close to ANOTHER powerup item the Chozo left here for Samus.

Chozo Ice Temple... this music right now omg

An easy space jump platforming segment... Up at the top is a bunch of Chozo statues with red scan marks, and a statue with a frozen water fountain coming out of its mouth... probably an item here later to get with the Plasma beam.

The door leading further west is blocked off by chozo statue technology.

A statue depicting the bust of a Chozo shaman adorns this door. A symbol is carved into its forehead. The translation reads, "To pass my gaze, seek my twin within this room."
This is a really easy puzzle.

Metroid Prime comprehensive playthrough part 2

Magmoor Caverns - First Visit

Went down through the Chozo Ruins elevator. Burning Trail, where the save station room is, is the farthest I explored here last time.

This is where the Magmoor Caverns music actually starts.

This Magmoor enemy is pathetically easy when you are a safe distance away from them.
Magmoors prefer extreme heat zones, and are susceptible to frigid attack forms. Sightless, they navigate the lava currents using their sonar receptors. Magmoors have a keen sense of smell, enabling them to pinpoint targets with startling accuracy.

Now you can switch the map to hexagon view, where you can see where each named world is in relation to each other, and which hexagon you are in.

This first area is called Landing Site. The main central area where your ship is, giving you a place to save and fill up on ammo.

I'm still walking around with the scan visor on constantly, scanning everything I can... But there's mostly nothing interesting to learn here, just boring plantlife... The pirate bases and chozo lore stuff is where all the interesting scans are. Still I kinda prefer playing this way, scanning everything... it's like you're exploring an unknown planet, scanning around for hazardous stuff before proceeding forward.
