Metroid Samus Returns - Screenshots dump (Area 7 + Area 8 + Ending)

Here's all the screenshots I took during my 6th playthrough session of the new Metroid game, going through the last 2 areas and finishing the game (without doing any backtracking for 100%). My comments as I was playing the game can be found here.

Metroid Samus Returns - First playthrough log part 6 (finale)

Currently I'm at 46.0% item completion, 4 metroids remaining, 10:58:52 play time.

Area 7

The next Chozo Seal requires 3 Metroids, so I guess draining this poison water will lead down to a passage that loops around back up, to an elevator going up to Area 8, and Area 8 is where I will fight the Queen Metroid, and then find the baby, and a path leading back up to the Surface... just my educated guess based on what I remember from the original game.

The door to the left of the purple area goes to a really cool looking laboratory area.

There's mechanical enemies everywhere... I just realized I can kill some of them with Screw Attack, so you're not completely screwed if you don't have aeion. Although I still can't seem to kill those annoying Power Bomb robots with anything but Beam Burst...
*light goes on over my head*
or... I could also kill them with power bombs... heh, that works.

I'm just space jumping around everywhere to kill all the mechanical enemies with screw attack, because that's the most convenient method. It's very easy to slip up and get killed by these normal enemies.

Found a teleporter and a power bomb expansion a bit passed it by spidersharking, and then further up, in the same room, the scenery seemlessly transitions into a snowy cave area... or rather, the lab is in ruins, so some parts are snowy cave and some parts are lab structure.

Metroid Samus Returns - First playthrough log part 5

Currently I'm at 13 Metroids remaining, 29.3% item completion, and Time Played 08:07:02...
129 missile capacity, and 8 super missile capacity, and 5 energy tanks.

This is kind of a lush, tropical jungle area... which makes no sense underground but whatever, it looks cool.

The beginning is very linear, ailroaded on a straight linear path so far, and got to an Alpha Metroid fight in shallow water. Then there's an underwater section, where I'm seeing some stuff that I'll definitely need the Gravity Suit for... space jumping and bomb jumping both don't work underwater without it.

Then I get to a really cool looking ruins area... and I drop down through some crumble blocks and get the last Aeion ability, Phase Drift... so this is how I get past crumble blocks in this game, instead of speed dashing, I'm just slowing down time for everyone except Samus.

Damn, already I'm bombarded with like half a dozen different ways to go. At least one of these paths is only available after the poison water is lowered.

Already found the Metroid larva shell... I bet this whole area is gonna be a big thing where I chase this one Metroid around throughout the whole area, and that's why there's only one required.

Decided to try the upper path first, but it just lead to a spazer door and another one of those weird green transparent doors, both I can't open yet.

...Actually it's not as open as I thought. I already narrowed my choices down to that one long path to the left.

Dude, this background scenery is so good... this is the best looking area in the game yet. I'm like, consistently impressed with the background art in this game... it looks SO good especially with the 3D turned on. It's amazing they were able to make the game looks this good on a small 240p screen.
