That place that was just an empty passthrough area up until now, actually has stuff going on this time when you head back from Cape Claw. The LightFoot characters think that Fox stole their treasure and captures him... then a cloudrunner comes to help and there's a weird awkward first-person combat minigame sequence against the LightFoots... This convinces them to let you go... Next Tricky says there's a Krazoa Spirit nearby (he can sense them?) and you get to explore the actual village, which is a bunch of treehouses in a shallow swamp.
Another "gather all the things and take them to the central area" section like in Cape Claw... wtf it seems like there's random water currents in this swamp for some reason?
The LightFoot Village leader helps Fox find the Krazoa Spirit only if you can complete their tests... the first test is just more busywork, where you gotta explore the village and find all the totem poles in a time limit... the 2nd test is a Mario Party "Mash A" minigame.
Found the teleporter to the next Krazoa Shrine... again like the last shrine, it's another linear obstacle/puzzle course.
Test 3 - The Test of Fear... while a cutscene happens you have to try and keep the bar in the green part of the meter. so many tests...
Got the 3rd Krazoa Spirit. Obviously next is the part where you go back to Thorntail Hollow and warp to Krazoa Palace again.
Also there's a really boring annoying sidequest you can do where you have to round up all the LightFoot babies and for doing that you get access to some new areas around the village, with just some minor stuff to collect like fuel cells and a cheat token.
back to Krazoa Palace... huh... this was a really short trip. I guess the Krazoa Palace isn't really a full dungeon, just a recurring area that you go back to a few times to deposit spirits.
Thorntail Hollow 4
Some random stuff you gotta do here before you can get to the next SpellStone area... protected some dinosaur's eggs in a kinda hard minigame and got the staff upgrade that lets you open certain doors... hooray.
Found out from the queen that Tricky's dad has been taken prisoner in the Walled City... and he's also the gatekeeper for that area... but the new staff upgrade you just got lets you control the gate from here anyway. hooray.
Another flight mission... collect 7 gold rings...
Walled City
This place kinda looks like an old Japanese castle setting... it's a big open area with a lot of designs relating to the Sun and Moon... and fireball switches on trees... The big temple in the middle has a sun door and a moon door, and various paths on it are opened/closed depending on whether it's night or day..
The Thorntail characters standing around here are weird and don't help much...
The secret of the river can be found amongst the leaves.
wtf does that even mean?
Did a couple of timed challenges to light up the sun and moon panels, and freed Tricky's dad. He gives you a vague hint on how to get to where the Redeye tribe took the Spellstone...
Got the Super Quake upgrade, used it and some regenerating exploding barrels to kill all of the RedEye enemies wandering around... had to find some very tricky hidden switches to get the gold and silver RedEye Teeth... these opened up the path to the boss area...
This boss is really interesting. You're in a square corridor and have to find places to hide from the T-Rex and find exploding barrels to set onto a floor switch at the right time to make the T-Rex get struck by electricity... it was interesting, but a little too easy.
Time for a needless dungeon revisit.
Volcano Force Point Temple 2
Going back through Moon Mountain Pass is exactly the same as last time... And the temple itself seems to be the exact same as last time too... but the path to get to the spellstone hub portal is slightly different now I think? At least I don't remember having to put out flaming platforms and torches with the ice power... yeah actually this is a whole different floor of the temple that I've never been to before, wtf. I don't remember the way I went last time but I'm assuming that way is blocked off now? The new content was pretty short though. Way more time was spent backtracking then doing new stuff...
Now you have to backtrack all the way back the way you came...
Thorntail Hollow 5
Some enemies have shown up and started attacking. Got a bigger scarab bag in exchange for saving them... This allows you to buy the SnowHorn artifact from the shop.
Next you have to go back to Snowhorn Wastes and give that artifact to someone who was looking for it... I guess that snowhorn will probably have some info on where the next Krazoa Spirit or SpellStone could be... now to go back through that well path that you had to go through a couple times at the beginning of the game...
Snowhorn Wastes 3
This whole part of the game is basically "reexplore every inch of the game world"... wtf
Found the Snowhorn who wanted this artifact, and he rewards Fox by challenging him to a game of finding a bunch of random things on a time limit... and doing that opens up the door to a Krazoa Shrine portal... another fun little linear obstacle course...
Test 4 - the test of strength... that was pointlessly easy.
and now you have to go all the way back to Thorntail Hollow... again... to warp to Krazoa Palace... you know the drill
